Last of the semester's oil paintings. Learned a lot this semester and had fun experimenting with oils.

German Cheesecake Recipe Collage

This is a recipe collage piece I did for German Cheesecake. Used various mediums and materials. It was more fun then I first thought and really found this piece relaxing to do. 

Tragic Love Story

This is an 8 page comic I have been working on. As an assignment for class we had to use only photos from famous photographers and make a comic out of them. It's about a love story that has a tragic ending. Each day I will post a page on this post, so love to hear your thoughts and enjoy!

Fionn receives the spear

Illustration for my Illustration I class. This is the Irish folktale of the boyhood of Fionn. It was a fun piece to do.

Oil Still Life Paintings

Well I finally was able to get the digital check out room on a time there there where open and got these monsters uploaded.

Alleyways of my Life

This project was done using scratchboard, thumbnail is on the left and final is the right. I did a full detailed thumbnail then outlined on the scratchboard and filled in the highlights. Had to do some minor adjustments on PS.

Keir Illest Submission

Worked on this piece to submit to Illest. Keir Hajh'tar, has been a long time character of mine and I love how he has progressed throughout these past couple of years :)

Frazetta Study

Studies for school i choose Frazetta and tried to match this piece to the best of my abilities. Overall it was really fun to recreate this piece. Later found out that the original was made through brushes not nibs. :)

Illest Submission

My T-Shirt/Poster design for Illest of Ill. Pen and Ink with a splash of PS. 

The theme was "Jazz Age".

Misty Forest

Little practice of how to do depth paintings and a friend showed me that putting a gradient on the background you can use the ink tool to build your basics in foreground, middle ground, and background.

Final Figure Drawing

Final Figure Drawing for End of my Freshman year at Ringling. Used Chalk and Charcoal as a medium. Took around a total of 9 hours.

V is for Vendetta

Well I'm back at home in WI and i have been at my job non-stop working, well I have found some time to upload this piece. Did a grayscale marker piece of a scene from V for Vendetta. Enjoy. Took me about 6 hours.

Final

This is the final piece of The Girl Among the Spirits, with a little help I was able to bring out a finished piece that I liked. Narrative in this piece is clear enough to bring a story to the viewer's eye. Medium I used was Photoshop, and I got to experiment a little with opacity and layers. What I really loved is how the spirits transparency shows through them, giving hints of the statues, the enviroment and the Girl. 

2D Abstract Painting

This is the start of the beginning of the the Girl among the spirits design. Medium Photoshop. Will update more. 

Dynamic Sequentials

For a Figure Drawing assignment we were asked to come up with several sequential ideas for our next project. Each idea for the sequential required least five poses and showed good dynamic action in the pose and be very expressive. I tried for several ideas showing action, from fainting to screaming. All of these pictures are in order of what I started to what I finished. I notice that the later pages seem to get better in defining the action and being more expressive. I tried several mediums such as colored pencils and pens. I found that Pens and Chinese Markers are great for sketching out potential poses in thirty second to a minute intervals. During sketches I realized that i tends to help not focus on detail and just make lines as simple as possible, but capturing the energy of the pose as well.

Animal Sequentials

Well gotta start somewhere and that's what these three pieces are about. As a class assignment we were called to drawing five animals of our choosing and draw them as sequentials of at least five poses. I choose the otter, the caribou, the snow leopard, the snowy owl, and the wolf. Funny enough these are animals that can be found up north(where I am originally from) and I guess some nostalgia rose within me during this assignment. I really like how I captured the energy of each pose for each animal and kept the line strokes simple but effective.
